Hector Olivera signs with the Dodgers

JT pitching to expectation would be 3 or 4 more wins, don't you think? Along with a healthy Freeman that would puts us right at .500. I mean the day Freddie got hurt we were what? A game and a half out after beating the Mets?

Again, you can't assume every player plays 162. We had no offense to help if Freddie went down.

Teheran has underperformed, but Miller has outpaced expectations... along with folks like Wisler and Perez.

By the way, at the time of this thread, you were counting on us having EY Jr, BJ, and Chris Johnson be integral cogs of our lineup.

We later made huge improvements with Maybin and Uribe and Wisler. Even with those improvements, we're headed towards a 75 win season at best

Well now let see....Freeman missed a month now didn't he? Add to that that JT has not been the 15-game winner he looked like he was the past couple years. Freeman doesn't miss a month, Julio pitches to expectation, we hold on to Uribe and KJ and we are still right there. Forget it you're not worth arguing with. You and the Professor just want me gone anyway basically for no other reason than I nailed last year in May and then I hated on Heyward and the Uptons so much.

Legit question: do you actually believe that or are you just sticking to your guns and attempting to rationalize?

No, I assumed CJ would be better, EY would be serviceable and BJ just cut. What I didn't expect was Julio to be so inconsistent, the 6th and 7th inning relief to be terrible for two months which we managed to survive still in the race, and of course the offense shoulders the blame but I think some undeserved. Think about it. There have been more than a few blown leads this year. This is not near as bad a team as made out to be.

If I did not believe it, I never would have typed it.

Fair enough.

I notice that you seem to want to have it both ways . . . you want credit for predicting last year's result, and you want to be let off the hook this year because GUYS AREN'T PLAYING TO EXPECTATIONS. That's pretty cheeky.

Something even more entertaining about that prediction quote from upthread was that you wrote it when EY Jr. was our starting CF. You thought this club, with EYJ in center instead of Maybin, was potentially an 83-87 win playoff team. If 25 games without Freddie was enough to wreck our season, how about 162 WITH Young?

It's ok to be wrong. Happens to all of us.

Except myself, of course.

I don't want to be let off any hook. All I am saying is this years failure is a bit more understandable given circumstances. Last year was not. They just quit...
