If you can't/won't unload Uggla, you give him April. You have to.
Yeah. Very short leash with him. Give him a month to see what he can do. If not just take it as a sunk cost and give someone else a shot.

The Braves still had star players with those guys on the roster. Are most people assuming we let Heyward and Freeman walk while not spending their money on anyone else? By that time the only player making a lot of money will be BJ. The money will get spent somewhere.
No not at all. This is all related to the sake of Heyward and him being a cornerstone franchise must have. The Braves have NEVER paid 20 mil + for any player. I hope that they will eventually because like some have suggested, the market will demand it. I mean BJ Upton got the highest paid contract as a Brave in franchise history, gotta go no where but up from his standards right? I just have a hard picturing Heyward or Freeman in our immediate plans...especially with them declining extensions on two different occasions.

Exactly. Let him know the score. No more sitting him a week, playing him a few days, sitting him. Give him a month. Pretty much every inning (with a day or two off). If his performance doesn't warrant more time, kick him to the curb and eat his contract and give the next guy his chance. Or just ****ing trade him already.
We really need to see another month of Uggla to know he is done?

I expect Uggla to be our second baseman in 2014 and post an OPS of .700-.750 along with his usual sub-par defense.
And that isn't worth a million or two to some team out there? Hard to believe. I think Wren is being stubborn.
That would be worth more than a million or two. The lack of a deal to move Uggla could be interpreted as indicating the Braves have a more bullish projection for him than other teams.
Lol. No. STRuggla doesn't deserve a month and we shouldn't have to sit there and watch him slomber in misery for that month either. Dude has had 3 years to get it going and that's plenty.
There are three things that I've learned in my time in life. 1. Politicians are as crooked as a question mark. 2. Never trust a white guy with no side burns. And 3. Any organized sport or competition that involves STRuggla as an opponent isn't much of a competition at all. I don't see this clown even getting the starting nod out of spring training. Someone will need him and acquire him.
