eh..the economy is a river not a lake with fixed resources...each person is like a tributary
on average every immigrant working contributes enough in the way of increased demand, innovation and entrepreneurship to create 1.2 jobs for native born Americans...no thank you notes or flowers expected
and then there are the contributions of the children of immigrants, who do significantly better than children of native born Americans...they pay more taxes, start more new businesses, make more important scientific discoveries

WIth the largest contributory factor being immigrants here with high merit levels making hte remaining 'allocation' overstated and not effective for America.

actually it is the children of poor immigrants from ****hole countries that are the most upwardly mobile...their parents don't uproot their lives and come here for ****s and giggles

We can only analyze the data that are available. The kids born in the 1980s are in the labor market in the 2010s. That allows us to see what kind of start the kids of those poor immigrants from ****hole countries are having. The early returns are excellent. As data for the 2020s come in we will be able to say how the children of immigrants born in the 1990s are doing. The book Golden Streets that I referenced was published in 2022. I'm sure the authors will be updating the results.

Yeah - The country is slightly different than what it was when those kids were growing up.
Lets look at crime - Education - disparity in rich and poor. I could go on.
YOu know that data is irrelevant aside from making yourself feel better about it.
People do get forms of government assistance even while working. It's not mutually exclusive.
