it is pretty straightforward that using a crime committed by an individual to tar an entire group is an act of bigotry

it does apply

whether that group is whites, blacks, jews, arabs, immigrants

even illegal immigrants
 
if i used a crime by a white person to say white people are the devil that's bigotry

and it's no different when you replace white person with illegal immigrant

either way it is bigotry

not really...some have their hearings for asylum adjudicated and are successful in the process

i had an uncle who came to this country seeking political asylum...after two years he lost his case and left...i don't think he committed a crime

the laws governing asylum are what they are...they provide for a process

Entering the country illegally is already evidence of a criminal. I don't need to justify any sympathy beyond that point
