Impeachment II

I think our own striker42 could've done a more credible opening than Mr. Castor, even though I know he was BSing that way because he had nothing else and assumes the Reps are going to acquit to matter what he says. I hope he got paid up front.

The lawyer on zoom with the cat filter on could have done better.

Is that really the best an ex-POTUS can find to represent him - a mafia lawyer and a guy who refused to prosecute Bill Cosby?

Rudy may get his chance yet.

Interesting number after Tuesday's vote.

people who work for him tend to suffer significant reputational damage

TUBERVILLE tells reporters tonight that when Trump called him on Jan. 6, he informed the president that security had just taken Pence out of the chamber for safety.

"I said ‘Mr. President, they just took the vice president out, I’ve got to go.”

//////

I got a chill hearing " he tried to have the Vice President assassinated"
/////

Long ago watched/ listened to wall to wall coverage of the JFK assassination, every Impeachment hearing of both Clinton and Trump , the 9/11 attack, dropping the helicopters from the ship as we exited Viet Nam --- what was shown on TV yesterday was horrifying.
This is beyond we agree or disagree on tax policy or abortion or civil rights.
This was just pure evil

Trump never checked in on the health of anyone in the capital but only called to see if Tommy Tuberville would snap in line to further delay the process.
By delaying that process it would give the mob time to find Pence or anyone for that matter.

Question, let's say Hillary had won 4 years ago and everything plays out the same except in reverse. Do the Democrats abandon Hillary if a mob of her supporters stormed that Capitol? I don't think so. The problem isn't the GOP being "rotten to the core," the problem is hyper partisanism that has infected American politics.

A mob of HRC supporters wouldnt storm the capital in the same manner.

Or should I say wouldnt " rally" at the Capital

i don't think the Dems haven't anything remotely comparable to the sizeable Q-adjacent contingent or the anti-democratic fascists (such as Proud Boys)....correct me if i'm mistaken

also i don't know if you've noticed the grassroots denunciations of people like Liz Cheney, Ducey in Arizona, Kemp and Raffensberger in Georgia, Cassidy in Louisiana....strikes me as rather cultish

meanwhile, Hawley has his best fund-raising month ever in January...what do we make of that

But the problem with this what if, is the democrats wouldn't have done that. We already had Hillary lose in a rigged election and people didn't storm the capitol.

All Trump had to do was concede. THat's it. If he conceded before the 6th none of this happens. Period.
