Impeachment

While we're talking about it, I can't edit posts in mobile view. It deletes the entire post if I try to edit in mobile view.

You know the question was an embarrassment to the GOP when it even made Gohmert and Gym Jordan uncomfortably cringe and look down in embarrassment.

I've watched this a few times now. And it's obvious the question makes Gohmert uncomfortable just by how he twinges his body and Jordan just looks down and double facepalms.

The GOPs last resort is the same as it's first, control over the Senate.
Even if the Dems had a 52-48 majority I don't see any GOP senators defecting. Even the ones like Romney would just play it safe. When you're in the Senate minority it's just as easy to use the party line for cover as the House.

The President ... shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of impeachment.

Since Nixon resigned before the House fully voted to impeach, Ford was able to pardon his crimes.

If the Pelosi House actually votes to impeach, Trump can't pardon himself (oh but I bet he'd love to try). What I want to know is if Trump resigns before the election, could Pence pardon him since he was actually impeached. And since the constitution says "except in Cases of impeachment"... not sure if there's precedent we can look to. That's why I asked striker.

Well aware but the optics of a bipartisan rejection and partisan acceptance plays right into trump's hands.

There were a few articles during the inquiry that Dems didn't have on party lines for Nixon too.

And you're right it plays into Trump's hands, because who knows better how to stir up division in the country and instigate partisanship better than the master and divider-in-chief himself.

Good deflection from the fact some in your party see this for what it is.

Independents are also seeing through this. As was stated many times...democrats webt all in on a horrible hand after Mueller surety went flop.

If you think Trump gets enough vote from new voters, blacks, and women to get re-elected better go back to math class.

I can't wait to see the result of Rudy's trip to Ukraine. This Hail Mary needs to be very, very good.
