In a perfect world - pitching staff delusions

Touki as closer

I know this won't happen but that is a good staff based on potential, stuff and 'it' material, what do you guys/gals think?

Touki has improved every year. He is a stuff guy that is harnsing he potential. Closer almost seems like his floor at this point.
I have no idea why people keep up the bullpen narrative with Touki. He's improved every single year as A STARTER! Until he can't keep improving, ixnay the bullpenay...

So who would you put in the pen? I haven't even put Wright, Anderson or Allard on the list. One of them is destined to be a closer. I love to keep our pitchers and not waste 20+ mil on a picther that might get hurt the first year, killing our payroll. We have people wanting Hamels, which is 20+ and he is maybe average right now.

in a perfect world they all stay healthy and develop to their potential...in reality injuries and stuff happen...Fried got an opportunity last night because stuff happened to Gohara, Soroka and McCarthy

where is Allard btw

Braves are in a good spot.

ML roster you have- Folty, Newk, Julio, Fried, Soroka, with Gohara, Allard, Touki close, and Wright, Anderson, Wentz, Wilson, Wiegel, Zimmermann among others knocking on the door.

Absurd how much pitching is in the pipeline lol.

Honestly, it's a year earlier than everyone expected with regards to the rebuild. I think we have the ability to get anyone we want and it'll be painful to see any of them go, but to your point, we will need to alleviate the logjam. I just hope that if it's a massive trade, Touki is not involved.or Wright. Or Allard...or...Nevermind...

For real. I couldn’t be a GM. These guys would be hard to trade.

He won’t be the closer because Craig Kimbrel will be.

If we dont make any big offensive signings minus brining Muk back, i'm hoping we do this, and trade some of our pitching for a BP ace to have a KC type pen.

When you built an elite farm, and your team is good, you have to trade them to help your ML team.

Yankees recently did this with Sonny Gray, and the Kahnle trades. It sucks, but you cant keep a good farm and a good ML team for long. But hopefully AA doesnt go too crazy when he makes a big move.

We shouldn’t need a starter so the money will be there to bring him home if we want and have plenty of money to fix LF. Between Riley and Camargo 3b should be serviceable and we could always make a trade if needed.

I just feel that we lose them they will become the next Charlie Morton, ace material. So hard to let these kids go. They are developing better than we thought.

I feel if we had back channels to Machado, I would give him 30 mil to play 3b, and give up 3 of our best arms in the minors Fried, Wright and Allard, if he agrees to a deal. Shoot me, but I will do it for a bat for the next 10 years.

Would you do that?

sorry I am not a fan of trading those 3 for Machado, if you want Machado go get him in the off season when you do not have to give those guys up, we can survive just for the rest of 2018. I would rather go after Kimbrel and Andrew Miller for the pen, they make a bigger impact for the $$

If Anderson continues to struggle with bb-rate, but otherwise pitch well, he certainly could merit consideration for a high-leverage relief role.

I also think the team is poised to sell high on Foltynewicz, whether it’s this offseason or the next one. That’s in no way an indictment of Folty, just a reflection of the facts: he’s going to start growing expensive (through arb, and ultimately FA), and he’d net more via trade than an un- or less-proven prospect, especially given his eye-popping tools.

In a perfect world there is a cost controlled, left hand hitting of who we can trade 3 pitchers for and he’s a five plus win player for us for 4 plus years

Or extend him this winter?

Yelich but they wanted Acuna.

If they wanted SP's, and someone not named Acuna, he'd probably be a Brave.
