Introductions Are In Order II

Dammit Roethlisberger calm down, it was just a joke. I started writing it and it sounded like it was turning into a personal ad, so I went with it. Everything from Kaepernick forward was made up. Trust me, I'm glad there's a lot of real estate between you and my dong.

It was already forgotten. Having a dedicated Car Talk thread is a great idea, though, for the OT forum.

My names Jeremy. I am 37 and from California. My dad was a fan of the Braves when they were in Milwaukee. Stared watching the Braves with him. I remember the days of the Murph and Horner. Zane Smith was my first favorite player. Was and scout and followed everyone here. I mainly just lurk for entertainment purposes. Reading everyone's comments in game threads make the games more entertaining to watch during the long season.

Wait, so you are transgendered?

I'm Jason, 40, live in the Denver area. I'm originally from the Washington, DC area. I didn't even start getting interested in baseball until I was a senior in high school - 1991. So in deciding what team to root for it was the Braves for two reasons:

I liked their hat. There was a kid in my class who always wore an Angels cap which in those days was very similar to the Braves hats. I thought that hat was cool. But mostly it was because they were on TV every night. It was either the Braves or the Orioles in those days, and the Braves hats were better!

Anyways, the Braves were 39-40 at the ASB in 1991, which is when I remember starting to watch them in earnest. They've basically been winning ever since. I have seen the Braves in Philadelphia, Montreal, St Louis, and of course here in Denver. I try to go to all the games here when they are in town, and they are always kind of crazy games. I went to the coldest game in MLB history (last year), saw an unassisted triple play, and a catcher get a win. Every closer we've had has blown a save there, it seems. Last year I finally had the opportunity to see the Braves at home and it was AWESOME. Braves beat the Phils 7-1 in the last week of the season. I got to stand on the homeplate of the old stadium, and to see all the statues, memorials, and the museum was just incredible for an old TBS Braves fan like myself.

Joined the Scout board in 2008 after googling "atlanta braves message board." Picked my name after my favorite literary character. Posted on there - a lot - about my love of Bobby, my dislike of Fredi, and my absolute disdain for bunting and "playing the hot hand." That was right when I think guys are at the peak of their investment in sports - ages 23-27 or so. I post a lot less than I used to, because I'm older and a little busier now. I think the infield fly game really took something out of me, too. Still love and follow the Braves, but don't live and die with them like I used to. It's a good place to be in.

I love baseball because it's so mathematical and comfortable. My dad went to school in Atlanta so he converted me into a Braves fan when I was very young - originally I wanted to root against them to piss him off, but then I realized that was dumb, and made the conversion around 1992 or so.

I grew up in Kentucky and love my Wildcats. Some of you know what I do for a living. Heyward is my favorite current Brave.

that's about it, I guess.

Alright.

My name is Casey, i started following the Braves around 96 or 97.

I live in NC.

Smoltz was pitching i believe that game.

Dont like baseball as much as i used too, infield fly rule, no salary cap among other things make me not like it as much.

I sometimes get into arguments with people but thats what this place is for, right?

:Alone:

Why not? My name is Waylon. 33 and married. Born, raised and continue to live in the Bahamas.

I grew up in a house full of Yankee fans, 3 brothers and both parents. Can't remember exactly when I started watching the Braves, somewhere between 91 and 93 when my parents got a b.u.d. (big ugly dish for you youngsters out there).

Naturally watched the Braves since they were on every night on tbs.

Can't remember what year I joined most of you. It was before Scout.

Never been to a Braves game. Three spring training games for the Braves and a couple Yankee spring games with my family when I was a teenager. Once drove by Fulton County Stadium in the mid 90's but no game :-(

I've been posting as Julio3000 since 2004, I think. Before that, I mostly lurked and occasionally posted at Fanhome and the now-forgotten (to me) board that preceded it, under less enduring handles. Julio3000 was a tribute to Julio Cesar Franco Robles's ultimately fruitless quest to achieve 3000 hits in MLB, with a nod towards my Decatur homey Andre 3000.

I was a baseball nerd who cut my teeth on the Bill James Baseball Abstract and grew up listening to drunk Skip, Pete, and Ernie on the radio, in a house that lacked a television. I'm eternally grateful to my dad, who insisted on getting a TV and a cable subscription solely so he and I could watch the Braves on TBS. My love for the Braves was consolidated during the decade or so I spent in Greenville, watching Zane Smith, Andres Thomas, and a host of has-beens and never-weres give way to Tom Glavine, Steve Avery, Ron Gant, Dave Justice, and the inimitable Brian Hunter; and eventually to Chipper, Javy, Ryno, Wohlers, etc. I spent time living in ATL during the Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz era, and was lucky enough to catch a lot of live games during the streak years. Some of the highlights were Game 6 in '95, a couple of Maddux sub-100 pitch CGs, the epic Smoltz-Pedro matchup in the mid-2000s, and Julio Franco's HR vs. Randy Johnson in the 01 NLCS.

I admit to a little jealousy of the Access Atlanta OGs, but like Hank White or Gerald Laird, I feel fortunate to have hung around long enough to provide some veteran leadership, and I'm charmed by the idea that I'm considered something of an OG, myself. I think that the mass migration to chopcountry.com was about the best thing to happen to my Braves fandom since Todd Van Poppel.

My name is Frost and I'm from Taiwan. I started to root for Braves since around 1997 when I'm 18, and joined scout.com in Bill Shank era. I followed the guide from some posters there and joined here when everybody started to get banned there.

I was not posting a lot (if at all), so I guess most of you people don't know who I am, but I enjoyed watching ball games and checking the game thread with you guys in the morning (yes, in the morning since my timezone is GMT+8. XD).

Lol. Moises and Jorge don't wear batting gloves. What they do is piss on their hands in spring training and they say it will harden their skin on their hands so much they don't need batting gloves.

Not sure if Evan Gattis practices this ritual. Maybe something he learned in winter ball. Old Dave Martinez is another one I think.

It's polar bear you know what. You know the old American Indian joke about buffaloes.

You was an avid YNOT player last year, what gives partner?
