Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

he still in here crying that people can't lie and spread propaganda

and trying to act like free speech is under attack cause twitter and others are like

"yeah, nah bruh"

lol

1. Enthusiastically supporting censorship

2. Falling for "propaganda" narrative bc the tv box said so

They are all the same

i don't know how to tell you any more clearly

that your obsession with twitter and what they do isn't viewed in anyway shape or form in the same way in my eyes

like, your question has a starting point of some great conspiracy that has ramifications you perceive to be as some great threat to humanity. so to take your question seriously i'd have to believe that. i don't. i view your question as irrelevant cause it's ****ing twitter.

stop using them if it bothers you. it ain't that hard man

i already know your reply to this and i'll be reminded why it is a waste of time to "engage" with you though

Yes I am aware that you were a cheering clapping seal at twitter influencing an election by censoring factual information bc it helped your team

You do not have to keep responding to declare what a clapping seal you are.

You are the same as every liberal in existence. A programmed bot

i love that you copy and pasted these responses while saying "they are all the same" lol

nailed it again bro

got your new favorite dumb word in there while going with a lot of the usual lame jargon you spew non stop here unless you're asleep it seems

Yes. One response can literally respond to all of you. Y'all use the same talking points the tv box tells you. It's be adorable if you were a monkey or something

It's so weird to me that "liberals" so enthusiastically defend censorship

It's because they're censoring the right people. If it was reversed and democrats were being damaged during election time because of censoring they wouldn't be holding these views.

Yeah, I'm being Captain Obvious.

I have a recollection from the very distant past of a certain poster waxing apoplectic about Facebook closing down someone's business venture of using their platform to sell AK-47s. The good old days. When men were men and goils were goils.

Do you have any regret about enthusiastically cheering on the censorship of truth, and also falling for fake news on the matter?

Any learnings or self reflection from that event?

any examples of democrats breaking rules and ToS and should be banned and it not happening?

or is your hypothetical for fun?

I think I've been consistent in making a couple points:

1) What private companies and individuals do with their platforms is their business. I strongly oppose government infringement of freedom of expression (unlike some around here who seemingly do not notice such an attack even when it hits them in the balls).

2) A lot of social media has become a cesspool for deza and propaganda. It has you and thethe here as enthusiastic amplifiers. This doesn't reflect badly upon the various platforms. It does reflect badly upon people who consume and amplify such nonsense. But the task of cleaning up the muck is like Heracles and the Augean Stables. More or less hopeless. I do not envy twitter and others who have to decide whether it is good or bad for their brand to allow all this "content" to flourish.

The man just cannot admit to being wrong. It's really quite sad

What evidence was there at the time for twitter and other to censor the information? I know the tv box just said it was RUSSIAN disinfo but what evidence did the censors have to pull the trigger?

The thing is I don't get in the weeds about these decisions twitter makes. It is their business. I've expressed the view it is a hopeless task. Why should I want to get involved in something that I view as their business and a hopeless task. They have to make thousands of these decisions on a minute by minute basis.

I once posted a restaurant review on yelp. It stayed up for a year then they took it down cuz it violated some rule. It was all very obscure to me and amusing more than anything else. I certainly didn't think it was worth my time to investigate why yelp censored me.

Are we aware of any other such new organization who wrote an article that was blocked from being shared on the twitter platform.

As far as I'm aware, this was unprecedented. There was zero evidence for them to make the decision they did. And the decision to do so actively aided a presenting candidate right before voting started. After 4 years of lecturing us about "election interference"... you'd think this particular decision would have raised your eyebrow a bit.

Instead, you enthusiastically supported the censorship, and fell for the fake propaganda narrative (again)
