Imagine that. Imagine a head of a Bureau of Prohibition ghost writing articles in every major newspaper falsely blaming violent crimes on "reefer madness" then using those articles as evidence in committee hearings about banning it. Imagine throwing the head of the AMA out of the hearings for pointing out newspaper articles aren't real evidence. Imagine claiming marijuana makes white women sleep with black men as a reason to ban it then magically changing to "its a gateway drug" when it's not an acceptable excuse anymore. Imagine removing a substance from the Pharmacopia which has been used for thousands of years as medicine then 80 years later claiming it has no medicinal value. Imagine spending billions on government propaganda to tell you how bad it is. Imagine they tell you to vote if you don't like then get told they don't care how you votes once you are the overwhelming majority. Imagine taking a child from a parent because they smoked a joint and giving it to a sexual predator and purposely turning a blind eye to the sexual abuse, and then once it's publicly known claim no responsibility for the damage done to the child.

Musk is a capitalist. He's not a left wing or right wing, he's a true capitalist. He only cares about what makes him more money.

No he did that as a gesture to people on the right. You see to ingratiate yourself to the elites you need to either

A. Provide a service that's so ubiquitous that it doesn't matter your political beliefs. Gates, Bezos, Uihlein, etc. because you're a powerplayer, everyone needs your service no one is competing with you.

B. Kiss as many rings as possible.

Musk was leaning towards that one. Sure he's the "richest man in the world" but he knows his wealth is implicitly tied to Tesla stock which can dive or fail at any point. If he wants to ensure a life beyond Tech, he needs to make other people like him. Buying twitter is an expensive way of opening that door.

Also Musk is a loser-bro. So I'm not shocked he would blow a healthy chunk of change to try and appease people like Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, etc. Also now he can make sure more people than ever see him. I have 2 twitter accounts, One I made years ago to follow baseball deadline. And one that's my personal one. The former I don't block musk and like half my timeline is musk, the latter I did and it's shocking the difference. Won't be surprised if in the future he makes himself unblockable.
 
And as an additional point, somepeople spend billions on Yachts, planes and homes, others on other playthings. Twitter is Musk's plaything.

Maybe...JUST MAYBE....he thought the governemnt colluding with Big Tech to silence free speech was a big deal.
