Its an asinine assertion to begin with because theres always been speech that will get you negative consequences. Theres nothing new about what they claim is going on now. Abolitionists faced consequences for opposing slavery. Atheists have been run out of towns and lives destroyed. The majority opinion always suppresses unpopular opinions. Sometimes its justified sometimes its not. What this thread is really about is conservatives no longer being the majority and their own tactics of yesteryear being used against them.

100%. Most of the folks posting here about suppression of speech have little to say when an actual for real attack on freedom of expression occurs. They wouldn't recognize an actual for real attack on freedom of speech even if it bit off one of their testicles.
