Sounds familiar.
On his secret tapes Sept. 1972, Pres. Nixon complained about Washington Post stories on Watergate:
"The Post is going to have damnable...problems....They have a television station . . . and they're going to have to get it renewed. . . . [T]he game has to be played awfully rough."
If the Biden administration threatened any firm with antitrust action or something along the same lines, I'd be similarly concerned.
However, if they caused Clegg or Zuckenberg a couple sleepless night by pointing out that the deza on their platforms had contributed to thousands of deaths, I would view that as an appropriate use of the bully pulpit.
