While I don't necessarily agree with banning them, let's not pretend r/the_donald was anywhere close to a place for critical thinking.
The mods of that subreddit routinely banned any outside voice who questioned anything about their messiah. Anytime someone who didn't agree with Trump posted anything reasonable that wasn't trolling they'd get the message "you are not allowed to post in this subreddit" half an hour later.
Weird how sturg never complained then, but complains now that the tech company that was letting those subreddits run wild by banning anyone who disagreed with them are the real bad guys now.
I was banned from a facebook saber analytics baseball group because I posted I bought a chief wahoo hat. It was a fun group to post in for baseball memes and stats, but there were definitely some overly PC guys there who got offended because I bought the hat and showed pics.
After the third time of me posting it they kicked me out.
I didn't cry about it or complain. Just moved on with life. Some members there messaged me and told me it was ridiculous at what happened.
