Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

we've had four years of a president who was constantly pushing deza of one sort or another...until companies had to decide whether they wanted to remain complicit in this activity

ultimately they made the right decision imo

our scorn should be directed at the deza (culminating in the Big Lie) and its purveyor-in-chief that have done so much damage to society

Cool.

Now we can focus on memory holing old articles that reflect poorly on the head of state. We can put commissions on whether fox news should exist. We can target podcasts that spread disinformation. And certainly need to ban pillow guys from social media.

All in the name of unity (of thought)

One of six men charged in an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy, admitting that the group discussed a scheme to snatch her at her lakeside vacation home and destroy a bridge to slow down police.

Ty Garbin’s guilty plea is a major catch for prosecutors, about four months after arrests were made. His testimony would strengthen the government’s case against the others and back up evidence collected by informants and undercover agents.

who was it peddling deza a few months ago about these guys being antifa or left-wing extremists?

OMG thethe too...another major surprise:

"Everyone's pretty quiet about this now that its confirmed these losers held hard leftist ideology. Funny thing hypocrisy is...."

thank you thethe (may the blessings of Allah be upon him) for pointing out our hypocrisy

1. Not sure what this has to do with speech

2. Not sure what you posted proves what your gotcha is about

3. You got your links messed up

4. When a governor decides to imprison her citizens and force them out of work to bankrupt them, dont be surprised when there is some blowback there

Some fun quotes from the WJS article about the guilty plea:

Last fall, defense attorney Mark Satawa said Mr. Garbin had no intention to carry out a kidnapping, no matter what he might have said in recorded or online conversations. A “big talk” defense emerged as a strategy.

“Saying things like, ‘I hate the governor, the governor is tyrannical’…is not illegal, even if you’re holding a gun and running around the woods when you do it,” Mr. Satawa said in October.

believe it or not how to deal with deza and its purveyors (which sadly includes you) is one of the knottiest issues in the area of free speech

twitter had to make a very tough call with regards to the BIG LIE, sedition, and the purveyor-in-chief

so i would say deza is not off-topic in a free speech thread

You posted a random story.

Then you posted a wrong link.

Nothing in what you actually posted contradicts the point you were making in your familiar pathetic habbit of digging up old posts

If a store doesn't want certain products on it's premises, it isn't suppressing anyone's free speech by not carrying them.

Ditto for ebay.

Ditto for Facebook if it doesn't want guns to be sold on its site.

Ditto for twitter or any web host if they don't want deza or hate speech or my take on anything. They don't owe me or anyone a platform. And they are entitled to require users of their platforms to conform to their rules. And they are entitled to make and change their rules as they see fit.
