Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

Says the dude that pushed an obvious fake Russian collusion story.

Thats because you are just thinking of certain personalities on Fox News. There are other programs/hosts on there who have been very critical of Trump. And thats just Fox News - Lots of other 'Conservative' outlets have trashed trump on things like Tariffs / Wars / Social policies / etc...

There was ZERO pushback on the left during Obamas term.
I’ve been out of touch until the Kirk assassination, so I was stunned to see how critical Steve Bannon has been of Trump and Kash Patel lately. And Patel’s comment about seeing Kirk in Valhalla drew a massive amount of criticism from the right wing commentariat.

And what if they’re indoctrinating leftist viewpoints without any visibility, but their students still meet the baseline? A not uncommon experience already.

How would you square that view while also believing the federal government must shutter MSNBC? Should every one of these schools be required to install a MAGA government worker in every classroom to ensure no proliferation of leftist propaganda? Or are you actually promoting a pro-market (gasp!) viewpoint?

I’m trying to figure out how one can be for 100% private education and for 100% heavy handed government influenced media…
This pretty much nails down the problem with universities, and increasingly with public K-12 schools. Too many teachers absolutely are pushing their own extremist views and it’s shifting the Overton Window hard. But even if you were willing to use government power to stop it, how difficult would it be to find trustworthy people to monitor it? Desantis has really been the only one to come up with some kind of solution by changing oversight board memberships and setting up New College as an alternative, but that’s a bee sting of a solution on an elephant sized problem.

I guess denying federal funding or tuition payments to schools who give out tenure would help by making professors less comfortable. Refusing government loan payments for unproductive majors and classes would go a long way, the world doesn’t need any more art history or Russian queer lit majors, but it would only last until the next time a Dem takes office.

The problem is really that Marxist sympathizing professors started flocking to universities in the 50s and have shaped the few generations of their replacements to be even more so. Now we’re in a spot where all the experts agree that the left most way is the only way, because they weren’t allowed into the experts club if they didn’t agree. I don’t know how to fix that, but it’s one of the biggest problems in the country today. O’Sullivan’s First Law is absolute, and it’s absolutely depressing.
