Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

A private company said that if you posted "misinformation" (whatever that means) they have the right to steal $2,500 from you

Congrats cuck. You are a pathetic loser

I think there’s a difference between what Cajun is saying and what you’re hearing. Are you proposing the government step in to provider greater consumer protections against financial companies having ****ty hidden rules and regulations or is this just about culture war bull****? I’m happy to join a fight for the former. I’d also think twice about putting my money in PayPal’s hands after this stunt.

I don't think there is a single instance where I would support a private company having the legal protection to steal your money if you have an opinion it doesn't like

It's also a culture war issue... Bc you know which "misinformation" they care about

And it's a dystopian sign of things to come... As the federal reserve is currently threatening a digital dollar where we know this is how that would.be deployed

Just deplorable from every possible angle and yet the liberals cheer it on bc they know who it is targeting

I, uh, support the right of private companies to run their companies however they think is best. You got me there. Licking that boot of the free market apparently.

It’s funny, you only seem to have this energy around consumer protection when it has something to do with “wokeness” or political opinions. Do you really think the executives at PayPal care about what people say online? Hint: they don’t. They incorrectly thought they could make more money from their customers by feigning social justice. Yet, rather than see the blatant corporate greed for what it is, you decry the “wokeness” and let them slither back to find other, less performative ways to **** over their customers.

I actually decry as a blatant attack on free speech... Which you have made clear you are fine with, as long as they respect the proper pronouns

Seems like a good time to remind everyone of the outrage Yelp committed against me when the took down one of my restaurant reviews. Can I have a boohoo or two.

No, I agree PayPal shouldn’t be able to do this. You’re just missing the bigger picture because you’ve become a single-minded parody of yourself.

The idea that you think this is corporate greed vs more authoritarianism from big tech in partnership with the federal government is a further testament to how naive and frankly stupid you are

We have documented evidence that the Biden admin has directed big tech to censor misinformation... Now there is a massive financial tech company threatening to the same thing. We saw this in Canada during truck protests. It's been in China for a while. Its coming here because of idiots like you

No offense

PayPal isn’t doing a ****ing thing unless it helps their bottom line. They thought if they gave a good reason to take money from their customers that they’d have broad support for it and they were wrong.

Do you think twitter banned Trump to help their bottom line?

I transgressed against yelp's rules and my review was taken down. Dont know the effect on the bottom line. Very poorly chosen transgressed against Twitter's rules much more bigly and many more times. And was NOT taken down. My suspicion is bottom line considerations DID come into play in influencing their decision to tolerate all his infringements, minor and not so minor.

who will speak out on behalf of Kanye's rights...sadly there was little appetite for standing up for Kanye's rights last time social media trampled on them...this is y'all opportunity to do better...how dare twitter have policies, much less enforce them

I think at the very least they didn’t think it would adversely affect their bottom line.

Very poorly chosen contributed tremendously to their growth...they made a bottom-lined influenced decision not to ban him even after many breaches of their rules
..they gave him special treatment...but that's their prerogative
