One of The biggest foreign policy mistakes of Obamas presidency was not backing the Iranians during Thier mini-revolt a few years back. If he had done that; Putin would have less power,Assad would had been gone long ago, Hezbollah would have less power. The Middle East would be a lot safer.

Egypt for all it's faults is the only country smart enough to realize that you kill all the terrorists because if you don't soon they'll have big enough numbers that you're stuck with them like Pakistan is.

There's No reason not to keep a force in Iraq to handle problems like ISIS. Just use your intelligence on where ISIS is and bomb them all day.

That was a lame joke and I apologize.

I really feel devastated that Iraq could be f'd here. I was really hoping the war would at least lead to something positive. Really hoping that these ISIS punks can be pushed back. Maybe I'm naive, but I think the Iraqi people are trying to make an effort here. I just wish the US would have kept some troops in there. I wish Obama would put politics aside and consider significant troops back in Iraq. I'd gain a lot more respect for him if he did that.

Well, I feel like we still have plenty of troops. What in it for us? You must be one of them thar greedy republicans.
 
So we did what we did in Iraq. The final tally, after a trillion dollars and several thousands of lives lost, was no more Saddam, a tenuous government that was friendlier to Iran than to the US, and an incipient civil war.

I really respect and appreciate your POV, Weso, but I'm skeptical. Maybe we could knock heads together and force some kind of power-sharing agreement among the Shia and the Baathist remnants. Maybe we could scrap the whole thing and effect a federalist solution—Kurdistan, Shia-stan, Sunni-ville. Maybe. But if our previous commitment bought us the current situation, I'm not sure if playing double-or-nothing is the smartest move.

And to anyone who wants to hang this on Obama? Grow up. That's the nicest thing I can say.

I'm still trying to wrap my head aroudn ISIS. We're fighting them in Iraq, but supporting them in Syria?

Oh right we're only supllying weapons and training to "moderate" syrian rebels who never talk or share weapons with the radicals who out number them.

US people are sheep. We're fighting for both sides cause where instability reigns, Big Oil wins. Germany is getting closer to fossl freedom, it's really sad that this great nation isn't.
 
Oh, it's been more than infuriating to hear that guy make the the rounds. I can't think of a single human being in America with less credibility on the issue. I actually listened to his interview on Hugh Hewitt's radio program. It was depressing, like falling into a parallel universe where everyone believes that **** smells like flowers.
