January 6th insurrection thread...

didn't really need new info to know republicans are spineless cowards

well an occasional reminder can't hurt...in this case there is a rare exception (Congressman Rice) going through a primary...as good an occasion as any to note that it took real courage to do what Congressman Rice did and that he could well pay for it with his political career...it's a sad thing when a solidly conservative congressman whose views otherwise fit his district perfectly is viewed as unacceptable by large numbers of voters in his party just because he put the constitution before some dude's delicate ego

South Carolina's Tom Rice was one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump for inciting the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Now, as Rice fights an uphill battle for his political life in the heart of Trump country, he is standing by that choice -- calling it “the conservative vote” in an interview with ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl that aired Sunday on "This Week."

“I did it then. And I would do it again tomorrow," Rice said.

Rice said Trump deserved to be impeached for potentially endangering former Vice President Mike Pence and his family at the Capitol and not acting more quickly to stop the deadly riot as it unfolded last year.

“When he watched the Capitol, the ‘People's House,’ being sacked, when he watched the Capitol Police officers being beaten for three or four hours and lifted not one thing or to stop it -- I was livid then and I’m livid today about it,” Rice recalled. “And it was very clear to me I took an oath to protect the Constitution.”

hell of a straddle by the freedom/constitution boy

doesn't specifically endorse authoritarian rule but understands why some would throw away the republic cause of inflation

aka another reason we know he's a fraud

we need to keep engaging with him to protect the children of America

But like... Do any Americans care about it? More than the insane inflation they are dealing with?

It was/is an extremely historic day. Despite your attempts to minimize it history will remember it for what it was. A sitting Prrsident who lost in a landslide told a rabid mob that a coup was taking place against America and only they could stop it by fighting and showing no weakness.

Maybe you dont want to be reminded that you were laughing at people who said Trump wasnt leaving peacefully.

As opposed to the previous administration which never accused anyone on the other side of wrongdoing or launched any politically motivated investigations. You would be hard pressed to find a work of his Presidency in which he didnt accuse someone of treason. Let's not forget his Durham hoax that was just recently exposed.

I would bet if a fair election were held today trump would slaughter Biden, even with the end of democracy Jan 6 event, which was worse than 9/11 and pearl harbor

If OPEC took a two year hiatus from drilling at full capacity during Trump’s administration before COVID, do you think gas prices would have remained low? Do you really believe we were that “energy independent”?

Even during trump we imported a lot of oil because it’s cheaper than drilling here and refining it here.

It's funny how much more that Lindell has accomplished than the academics and how much richer he is

Must suck to think you're superior but to be so inferior on the scoreboard
