Jecki Lon Memorial Star Wars Thread

So like I said, the loop of people knowing Qimir exists closes. Only VErnestra Rhoh and the dark side users are around.

WIsh the ending had better closure. I feel like Sol got kind of the short stick. I get he couldn't be the hero. But I wish he wasn't just a stepping stone for Osha to become the potential villain but the redemption arc like Mae tried to offer.

So they killed off the most appealing characters. Impressive work Disney.

Probably the worst acted show of the SW series with Kenobi being a close rival. I think Kenobi's stories would have been better told in movie format.

Although a likeable character the guy playing Sol ended up being one of the worst actors in the series and in the last it was front and center. The fight scenes in the last episode were awful. Little nod to Crouching tiger in there with the two Asian guys fighting? L O EL

The Mae\Osha skirmish was awful as well.

ANyone who thinks Sol was poorly acted doesn't know what to look for in acting. You criticize the fight scenes which get universal praise except for from a certain corner of the chud universe. We see some of the coolest fight choreography in this show and you're acting like it's ****. WHat show did you watch? What Star Wars have you watched?

Whats a chud universe?

Sol was brutal in the last episode. Sorry.

It was awful and the fight scene was a Asian nod (with Asian actors) to a martial arts film from the 90s that was equally as cringe. I mean come the f on. You have to be more thoughtful than that zito...being a "movie savant" and all lol

They killed off the best characters in the whole show. Like the only ones you wanted to follow. Thats... a bold tactic.

Ive seen em all at least a few times. Solo was on last night. Its not good, but it beat anything else that was on and I love anything Woody Harrelson. It had been a while on that one though. Does that qualify to have an opinion, Siskel?

You think people don't want to follow the primary characters? The show has 3 main characters. Osha/Mae, Qimir, and Sol. Sol was the only one to die. Other characters who died were side characters, Sol's Padawan, Osha's former friend, and a bunch of jedi important to the story but as side pieces. The core of the story was Sol battling for Osha and losing Mae which lead ot him losing Osha.

It's not a nod to Crouching Tiger. It's a nod ot Kung Fu. And calling Crouching Tiger "cringe" is just showing that you have no taste. Listen you don't need to like it, I don't care, but complaining about the action means you don't care. This has some of the best fight choreography of any Star Wars content. What do you want? What would have been better? We got well choreographed fights, new force powers, etc. what more could have happened?

Saying Sol was brutal in the last episode again shows you don't really know what you're talking about. We're watching a man realizing his world is crumbling as he's attempting to make peace with it, only for it to ultimately fall apart in front of him.

Qimir is the only one of those three with any interest . Mae and Osha were so poorly acted it was hard to feel attached to them whatsoever. It felt like a side character than joined the others together... a simple tool. The rest are truly forgettable.

Just an awful episode and show. Is there anything besides that feeling anywhere else?

Sols acting was awful. It just wasn't good. I'm not sorry I feel that way. It was off-putting the entire episode.

You have no quantifiable hate so you say "bad acting" it's the same tired **** people have been saying for 25 years about any new star wars content. Rarely is it poor acting. Remember when people said Natalie Portman was a bad actress just a few years before she won a ****ing Oscar? Sol was not poorly acted. You just harping on this calling CTHD cringe, etc. certifies my point that you have **** opinions.

That was one of the worst paced shows I have ever seen. You could have done that entire season in 3 episodes. There was no satisfying conclusion because the entire season was really just setting the stage. If they'd have done that season in 3 episodes you'd actually be at a good point for the rest of a season.

Sol's acting was somewhat forgivable considering the actor's limitations with the language.

As for the crouching tiger, hidden dragon stuff, you have to either fully commit to that or else not have it at all. Had it been Star Wars as a Kung Fu movie, that could have been fun. The small nods just made it weird.

Thanks Ebert.

If you stand on the other side I’ve never been so confident im correct. A Disney cuck if there ever was one!

Maybe someone else will chime in.

Oh look.

Can you imagine writing this post up, hitting submit and being like "**** Yeah, that's a good point"

You've added literally nothing to the discussion. I talk to striker because we don't agree he comes from the place of a fan. We don't agree on where things necessarily go. But he doesn't result to just using buzzwords like cringe to describe his feelings.

While I agree that it has the vibes of setting up another season, it's hardly something not used by other showrunners as a way to get another season of a show. I don't agree with you on pacing. I think you're thinking of a movie. THis isn't a movie, this is a show. You had to set up a fall for Osha, to set that fall up you have to build up to it. If she just turns it's the awkward Anakin turn in the prequels.

Except you have an actual crisis moment for Osha. She finds out the man she looked at as essentially a father actually basically killed her mom and kidnapped her. Her immediately rejecting the Jedi teachings upon finding that out is understandable.

They spent two full episodes, that's a quarter of the season, on flashbacks just to show a Jedi killed her mom who created her using a vergence.

They spent several minutes of screentime showing the tracker sniffing when he was basically pointless to the plot as Jedi can use the Force to guide them.

They used their time so poorly. The story ended up being pretty flat and obvious because they wasted so much time on side characters they didn't have time for a compelling plot.

The thing that annoys me is the show had some good bones. Showing the Jedi Order being fallable. The more nuanced sith lord. Introducing Plaguis. The political tensions. The storytelling was just so poor. They kept wasting time on the wrong things.

I don't really feel like they invested a ton of time in side characters. They needed to make the point clear that people aren't born inherently good or evil, it's the events around them that shape them.

More retconning and ****ting on already established lore and characters in order to make this show/story way more important to original Saga than it really is.

It's a joke at this point.

What established canon lore was shat on? Darth Plagueis in canon is a line from a film. The breaking you're talking about is from the Darth Plagueis book we both know you didn't read.

When Darth Plagueis found the courtosis deposit with Darth Tenebrous doesn't matter. Anyone who tells you it matters is an idiot. Where was your raging at breaking the canon when Rise of Skywalker cancelled canon novels and comics?

Prequels: Darth Plagueis the Wise was so powerful and wise, he was able to manipulate midi-chlorinian to create life and save those he loved from death.

The Acolotye writers for some reason: Nah, **** that ****, he's gonna spy on some witches about a 100 years before all them prequels.

You're accepting that the tragedy of Darth Plageuis the wise is fact, not a story made up or manipulated by a sith lord attempting to recruit the chosen one.
