Julio T...

His walks are up by 1.5 per game and he's throwing a lot of meatballs. I think he's getting behind and then grooving pitches.

This is right. His command is off. I think it's a mechanical thing. Of course, the home/road delta is only explainable by some mental issue or because the Atlanta mound favors him for some reason. Bottom line, he gets in a spot, floats up a getover pitch, somebody hits a dinger.

Don't like the deal but glad it wasn't Julio going to LA. Julio is too good a pitcher to keep pitching like this. Hopefully looking for a repeat of 2013 after his disaster in AAA in 2012.

For some reason, I can't copy and paste from the article, but part of it says that there has been friction between Teheran and Roger MocDowell. I had not heard that. Interesting, if true.

I really like Teheran but I would not be mad if we get Soler.

Agree, that's the kind of deal I could live with. I would be against giving them anything else of consequence, though. Teheran should be able to get Soler. If his value has dropped so much that he won't, keep him and try to get his value back.

I like Soler, it's interesting to note that he can opt out of his contract and enter into arbitration once eligible if he feels he can achieve higher value.

Wonder if the Braves would move Markais to left.

If we get Soler for Teheran even giving up more than Julio I think we will be set up to do some major damage in the coming years. Soler reminds me of a young Justin Upton. Soler and Olivera are long term assets for LF and 3B. Yes LF because Markakis will not be playing LF unless Heywood comes back. They could realistically sign Price and Greinke to front the rotation and be at around 100 million in payroll.

Yep, Julio and Maybin for Soler (and maybe a bullpen arm) would make alot of sense for both teams IMO.

At the beginning of the year I'd be all about this. But Soler has really struggled in his first full year. I really thought he could be a future MVP after seeing him in his stint last year, but possibly he's a really nice buy low candidate. Struggling Teheran for a struggling Soler would be interesting.

He'd be a fantastic buy low candidate. If he hadn't struggled so badly this year there would be no way he'd even be remotely available (and may still not be, who knows), he was a top 15ish prospect coming into the year.

Soler is under contract through 2020 and never paid more than $4 million a season. With as cheap as him and Olivera will be, there's still a lot of money to make other big moves.

I agree. I'd go HARD after Soler. Isn't like Chicago doesn't have enough bat to make runs without him.

I'd like to see Parra a Brave this offseason. Good pop, great D, and a solid all around ballplayer that won't break the bank.
