Klaw rates us the number 2 farm system...I think he's high

It's only going to get better with that international prospect from next year.

Hard for me to say it's to high or not because I don't know other teams farm systems that well. I just know ours is really damn good.

Cruz and Pache have a real chance to be special also... they are definitely more heralded international 'spects than we have gone for lately save for Yepez.

And as mentioned many times in the past week the positional prospects in rookie ball I'd as good as its been in a long long time.

Jeez, Keith. I'm excited about Allard too, but he's a 17-year-old high school draftee who hasn't thrown a pitch in anger in a few months as a result of a back injury. Chill out for a bit.

As much as I love KLaw rating the Braves #2 I get the sense its a bit high just out of spite to the Wren's.

Jeff particularly has not had good things to say about Law so I bet their paths have crossed some time in the past in not the most cordial manner.

That's been my observation as well.

"The system is a little light on future stars other than Albies and Allard, but there's a tremendous amount of depth here, especially pitching, which Atlanta desperately needed coming out of the Frank Wren Reign of Error."

We'll probably drop quite a bit since Folty, Wisler, and Banuelos will lose eligibility soon.

Mine as well. The Braves don't fit his model in evaluating systems in a lot of ways. He likes to value top end talent like Nats (Giolito) and then kinda crams the Braves in at 2 despite a huge lack of top end talent (1 top 25 in his list).

The system is has gotten a shock in the past few months, but top 2 is a bit silly.

I could see us top 10. Even top 5. Top 2 is really questionable. Especially when the top 2 guys in his rankings are 17 and 18.

WE WON 190 GAMES IN TWO YEARS AND LAPPED THE MUCH-FELLATED NATIONALS IN 2013 IT WASN'T A REIGN OF ERROR IT WAS A LOT OF FUN AND THERE WERE A LOT OF GOOD MOVES AND GSASAGASLKGJSALKGJA!!!!

Ahem. Sorry. I don't mean to keep coming to Wren's defense, but Law started it this time.
In the immortal words of Curly Howard....."Mmmmm....Putrid."

Law loves upside and tends to undervalue certainty, and basically all of our prospects are high risk/high upside guys so its not surprising we're ranked this highly.

Exactly. It's not necessarily just top-end prospects (meaning high ceiling and also close) that he values; he values any prospect that has a high ceiling, period. It's why he has Allard 2nd in our system despite never throwing a professional pitch. In that regard, it's easy to see that our system actually does fit into the mold he likes. Albies, Allard, Toussaint, Davidson, Ruiz, Jenkins...while none of these guys are top 10 or top 20 guys right now, they all have very high ceilings...so he's going to like them.

And everyone understands how important organizational depth is, even if Law generally cares less about it than others. You can't ignore the amount of legitimate prospects we have; in that respect, it blows pretty much everyone else out of the water.

Rating us 2nd may be a bit premature, but you can also make an honest argument for it, as Law does. No way the Nationals are ahead of us. Sorry, giles.

"Reign of error." Looks like somebody eagerly lapped up the Three Johns' narrative. Didn't have to read it to Law twice.

We weren't that bad then (especially figuring graduates to ATL, which is kind of the point) and aren't this good now.

And as somebody who generally values ML production over Minors potential, I'll just remind everyone that "Potential just means you ain't done ****, yet."
