Legal/scotus thread

Well the supreme court does have a long history of just making **** up. First you decide what you want the constitution to mean then work backwards to justify it. You cant lose your job for ignoring the constitution so whats really to hold them to it? To this day the Supreme Court says Marijuana that is neither sold nor crosses state lines falls under the federal governments ability to regulate interstate commerce. Even Garmel could figure that one out but Supreme Court justices cant.

So, on top of everything else we now learn that Justice Thomas got
a free $267,000 RV from a health care tycoon who loaned him the
purchase money and then forgave the loan.

As I asked here, how many health care cases did the Court decide?

Aside from this being nonsense, are forgiving loans bad?

The scheme as ProPublica has laid out in terrific detail is:
Rich cons get access to the court, send gifts to justices and $ to Leonard Leo.
Justices get gifts that let them live well above their means.
Leo gets $ from rich cons to appoint more RW judges, manages SCOTUS access.

Document shows Clarence Thomas wanted more Money — and

got it from rich conservatives fearful he’d resign

I assure you nobody is reading or caring about any of your posts about this... but it astounding to me how much energy you've invested in this story, despite the other justices getting wealthy, and members of congress getting wealthy

Won(D)er what's (D)ifferent

Quite simply other politicians , which by law supreme Court justices are not - do not decide
for lack of better term, Supreme Court cases.

Sheesh

I really don't care who reads or cares out the pile of deplorables this board has turned into but,
you cant say you weren't made aware.

Go back to fighting for Moms For Liberty , Governors Abbot and Desantis and enjoy the weather in irrelevantland

Quick question, what other Justices and do you have names, dates , quotes or instances?
Probably not

You know as well as anyone how easy it is

No, I'm too dumb.
I don't know what I think
And only do what I'm told

Read the article, stay up to date

Read what I wrote.
Inever mention l he was guilty of anything just Made avlailable information.
From places you are afraid of
Read it or don't.

He isn't guilty of anything --- and if he ever is charged he still won't be guilty.

But before you asked that idiotic question you knew that
But, good to know you are OK with a jSupreme openly / blatently accepting favor.

Clarence Thomas is going to hear Supreme Court cases in

which HIS OWN WIFE was texting with one of the star witnesses --

and emailing with an unindicted co-conspirator

-- ABOUT THE CRIMES IN QUESTION.

No thats just fine but Justice Engoron wife posting anti-Trump **** on social media is proof he is biased and should recuse himself.

I think this hits the nail on the head. I dont for a second think Clarence Thomas needed to be bribed to rule the way he has. He needed to be bribed to not resign to seek more lucrative options.
