Fear of arrest? What the hell is wrong with you. I’ve been smoking weed for twenty years in NY and never had the fear of being arrested.

You don’t get arrested for smoking weed. You only get in trouble for it if you’re a dick to the cops when asked about smoking weed.

Cajun doesn’t realize he’s a walking example on why weed shouldn’t be legal.

My money is on the dude having issues before ever smoking and I hope he works on them if that is the case.

Its a shame though that the perception is that weed shouldn't be legal but I get it when seeing a basket case like Cajun.

They’re plenty of studies that say Drugs also speed up and magnify mental illnesses. That’s why I could never get behind drugs being legal. What you as a responsible, coherent adult putting in your body is one thing, but should schizophrenic, paranoial and delusional people be allowed to take mind altering drugs? F no.

hundreds of thousands are arrested every year with possession being their most serious charge

yeah that is not remotely true. Also I have been fully employed my whole life and never taken a dime from the government in any kind of assistance. How bout you?

And theres significantly more evidence that prison doesnt just speed up mental illness it creates it. I get that you think its bad but how much destruction are you willing to have for it? You dont bat an eye at the cops hurt enforcing it? You dont care that millions of innocent people have a criminal record despite never committing a crime against anyone? You cool with drug gangs shooting up cities like Chicago? I can respect a persons opinion that mariuana is bad, thats fine, but the damage prohibition causes is 1000x worse than the drug itself.

It happens more than you think... alot depends on the state. I guarantee if you're caught with almost any amount of weed in Texas, you're probably going to jail. Best case scenario you basically get a $1000+ fine. That's ****ing ridiculous
 
I’ve smoked for over twenty years and the only time I was caught was when I was a first year freshman smoking in the nature preserve behind my dorm.

I find it difficult to believe that people are getting arrested for holding a small amount of pot or smoking it. But the data in the article is official. Just don’t see how it’s possible.

You don’t. It’s a myth. Ask anyone you know whose a cop. It’s not worth the cops time or trouble to arrest and book someone for simple possession. No one ever got arrested for it on livepd.

Again... all depends on where you live... I went to jail for a night for simply having a pipe and residue in GA when I was in my early 20s. Granted that was 20 years ago and GA is a fine only state now usually if under an ounce. Texas, Idaho, and Utah have notoriously draconian laws for marijuana possession.
