Let's Talk About Media

Seriously, I thought we could all agree that "freedom" IS an anti-government slogan in Cuba. I don't think the Times is wrong in putting it that way.

It is hard to understand what the people are so upset about. Free education. Free healthcare. Isn't that the dream?

Cuba's medical care system IS something they can take pride in.

Btw the Cuban people are demanding freedom AND vaccines. Imagine that! God bless them.

Why can't they get vaccines?

Cuz they aren't part of the Union. You know that thing that most southerners fought against. Although 100,000 white southerners did stay loyal and fought for the Union, in whose honor I would like to see a few monuments erected in their home states.

Thanks to Lincoln's successful prosecution of the Civil War the Union still stands and backwards states who have yet to develop a vaccine can share in the bounty of the vaccines developed by Moderna (domiciled in Cambridge, Massachusetts), Pfizer (domiciled in that ****hole New York City), Johnson & Johnson (domiciled in New Brunswick, NJ) and Novovax (domiciled Gaithersburg, Maryland).

I'm so glad you asked!

But they have free, socialized medicine which surely can provide essentials like vaccines right?

Isn't that what we want here? Free socialized medicine?

They have a medical care system that is a marvel for a country of their rank in terms of socio-economic development. Most things in Cuba are awful. But the regime's worst enemies give it credit for providing good healthcare for its people.

I believe we should offer a trade of people like her to Cuba for people protesting their communist utopia now

Hopefully we can aspire to get to their healthcare system, as the times opined for

Our healthcare system is a marvel in its own way. But it doesn't work for a large part of the population. We shouldn't be too proud to try to learn from how other countries do it.

I realize this is a baseball discussion board, but I'm not in favor in trading human beings, our fellow citizens, to other countries. No matter how objectionable their views may be. I try to remain consistent in my defense of freedom. Freedom to be as ludicrous (and vaccine-free!) as you want to be. Life on these boards would be dull without you and thethe.

I would never say love it or leave it, with respect to either the country or a religion or a discussion board.

Didn't you say they couldn't get vaccines?

that i did say

btw

news flash: due to the pandemic most jurisdictions not in a political union with New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maryland have been waiting in line for covid vaccines...the ones developed by China and Russia are generally considered inferior or ineffective
