Headline said sex and romance. ROmance in artistic depiction can exist without sex. Sex can exist without romance. The position of that article is largely we're in that latter state. Not that I have a strong opinion on it one way or the other.

Romance and love can easily be expressed without sex to get things across to children that it's kind of normal to put all your emotional vulnerability into another person.

Pedophilia shouldn't be normalized, we as a country have failed in that for too long. Want to know what's gross, child beauty pageants.

I didn't see a defense in the article. But the scientist that they quote throughout the article has been quoted himself for wanting to include the "P" with LGBTQ. Which I would not agree with and imo puts his other thoughts and research into question.

My problem is that you can make that claim about damn near anything if you’re going to take it to its most extreme end. Having sympathy for someone struggling with an impulse they know is wrong is much different than having sympathy for someone who acts upon an impulse they know is wrong. Finding these people and giving them a safe space to seek treatment is much better than keeping them in the shadows.

That is exactly the playbook used for the mental illness formerly known as gender dysphoria. We needed to give them space to be honest about it, blah blah. There is a tremendous driving force of sexual deviancy in the social progressive movement. It's been incredibly effective. I think it's a majority now that have been convinced that two guys getting married is the same as a man and a woman.

They've convinced the Democrat party to make a huge part of their platform securing the rights of people so mentally ill that they pretend to be of the opposite sex.

Now they're polishing the turd that is pedophilia, taking the first steps to normalizing it. I predict lawsuits within a decade to try to restore convicted pedophiles "right" to work in education or childcare.

All of this is telegraphed, it isn't even a question of if they'll do it, just how long it will take the media/entertainment/academia triumvirate to pull it off. What I'm curious about is where they go next. Will they throw their weight behind the polyamory/bigamy/throuple marriage crowd, or will they move right to bestiality?
 
When they started the pushing the "love is love" motto for gay marriage a couple of decades ago, did you guys really think they would stop there with such a non-specific tagline? Do you really not already hear the arguments in your head?

The idea is to eliminate humanity by making us non-unique where we are all interchangeable parts.

This paves the way for Transhumanism.

The major difference to me is that none of these other “comparable” situations involve a clear victim except for the absurdity of jumping to bestiality. Polyamory or throuples involve consenting adults. Gay rights and Trans rights involve just the individual and their rights to live as themselves. “Rights” for pedophiles inherently involve someone that cannot provide consent, which you may recognize as something that the Left has been incredibly serious about. I am of the opinion that whatever consenting adults want to do with each other with no victims should be fine. You can’t have that with children, even if you don’t damn the pedophile for their urges if they don’t act upon them.
 
So anyone want to talk about all these media people being advisors to Trump? Isn't this the bias "the right" has a problem with? Is Maddow texting Bidens chief of staff to give advice?;

The state of Washington just required health insurers to cover gender reassignment surgery for children 13 and older, without parental consent. You'll pardon me if I lack faith in the commitment of the Left to protect children. Just frame not protecting them as providing sexual rights to the kids or someone else, and you'll have 50 year olds legally "mentoring" middle schoolers across the country. Love is love, their body their choice.
