The biggest offseason need for this team is a better, more selective, more intelligent offensive approach. Make good plate discipline an organization-wide philosophy. Find guys who can instill such a philosophy. That obviously means a new hitting coach, but also guys at the lower levels that can teach this. Get rid of players who are beyond saving in this regard. And get Chipper back in the organization in some capacity.
I said more or less the same thing after the last two playoff exits. If all they’ll do is make some minor tweaks to the roster, I’m calling the same thing for 2025 right now. Despite all the talent, this offense is exploitable. First it was the Phillies, now most other teams have caught on. Obviously, longtime habits can‘t be fixed in one offseason, but they better get started.
