Matt Kemp to Dodgers!

Now you're talking. I thought we were going to absorb salary to acquire Yelich but there is still long term dollars on those players that the Braves didn't want on their balance sheet.

The prospect haul to get him is going to be massive. Names that are going to hurt.

We with stood the CoppyGate pain; this one we'll recover from as soon as the games start. As I said elsewhere, I forsee the haul as being akin to Folty, Toussaint, Pache, Cumberland and Camargo.

If we can get Yelich without giving up Acuna or Albies, i'd do it.

It would hurt but the farm is deep enough to absurb such a deal.

It absolutely can be done. Not even close. Keeping Riley, Wentz and Soroka as well. Beyond that, I applaud making the deal, period.

Initial reaction I love the trade. Kemp is addition by subtraction and the players we got are solid depth. Positions the team well to go after a big FA next year. I know they like Riley but maybe he will come in at LF and we get Machado for 3B.

I don't think that would do that but even if it did you have to figure out what to do with 3B/Util.

bowman- Anthopoulos says McCarthy satisfies the desire to add a veteran starter and Culberson‘s presence lessens the need to add a bench player.

Remaining possible offseason targets are a reliever and third baseman.

You'd have to throw in at least one or two of Soroka, Wright, Newcomb, Allard for Yelich.

Not sure if you're being serious but I'll agree anyway. He always has a great take on these things. Can't take that away from him.

Was serious. Really enjoy his information. Just not always a fan how he delivers it.

If Kazmir is physically able to pitch, I'd consider moving him to the pen.

That was my line of thought when I suggested, a week or so ago, that the Braves target him to help LAD under the LT line. I really doubt he can hold up in a rotation anymore, but there's at least a chance he can bounce back (maybe even with a couple extra MPH) in a bullpen role.

Twitter- Atlanta is now responsible for just $38,226,000 in 2019, opening the possibility of being a major player in the hyped 2018 free agent class.

Based off their 2017 payroll alone (barring any increase), that leaves Anthopoulos & Co. roughly $84 million to play with next offseason.

Interesting take on why Gonzalez was DFA's so quickly.

Adrian Gonzalez waived his no-trade clause when #Braves agreed to DFA him, that way he can look for another opportunity with a team that can use him, while it's still early in offseason

This kind of deal absolutely had to be done to make us players next year. Even if it’s not super probable, the idea of adding a Machado and Yelich (via trade obviously), becomes more real.
