Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

Its a shame that names like Farhan Zaidi and Jed Hoyer have not been mentioned as in the mix to replace Hart. The names that have been floated are a highly uninspiring group imo.

The names being floated so far are rejects of other organizations that were replaced by smarter guys. Just like Washington and Porter and Weiss, the Braves are collecting guys smarter organizations have deemed unworthy of leadership positions.

Braves Way!

I mentioned Hoyer - guess I should've done it in a blog. Lol.

"Sources indicate the Braves are discussing a number of potential executives, including Chuck LaMar, Randy Smith, Herk Robinson, Jim Bowden and Cam Bonifay."

Sounds like The Battery is going to include an old folks home.

I was going to ask if there'd be a corresponding Barnhill's Country Buffet, too—but apparently all those are now closed.

This is what I get for moving out of the South thirteen years ago, and rarely looking back: my finger is firmly off the pulse of buffet culture.

It's as if they're trolling every fan who recognizes those names.

Well it leads to the question, who is making the decisions on who we should bring in? We have a faceless and absent ownership, and the head of the organization is apparently a bean counter, so does anyone have a clue what's going on here?

The bean counters should be able to see where the game is going, and since they have no biases towards dumb jocks they should be able to make a good hire.

So does anyone think Terry McGuirk is capable of that? Is our ownership aware that we need analytical people in charge? I highly doubt it and I think that's a major issue.

If they're seriously considering people like Jim Bowden, Josh Byrnes, or Dan O'Dowd, I wouldn't hold out much hope for anything.

The only "defense" I'd offer for anyone in that group is that Bowden at least seems to be "plugged in" - Bowden and Duquette's XM show is pretty solid, even though it's as analytically challenged as many of us here.
