He just made his point poorly. He’s saying that bands aren’t prevalent in popular music right now, and he’s right. I’m struggling to think of many bands that weren’t already popular 10 years ago that you can consistently hear on the radio. They still exist, and they still make good music, but they’ve fallen in popularity.
When Maroon 5 was big, it was 2002. THe whole scene changed. Bands are much more regional.

Great example as to why context matters. It was actually an attempt to promote women choosing culinary careers that have often been dominated by men. I can't imagine how someone didn't see the lack of context as a problem.
