I don't know if Shapiro does, I was speaking for myself. I can look at their mansion and lifestyle and determine that they should be thankful for being more privileged than >99.99% of the world.

Sure, oppression is a bit of a stretch, but I don’t see anything that we can obviously say is false about their experience. Could it be? Sure, but that is a long way from declaring it so and cozying up to the Monarchy to defend their honor.

Let me tell you something about these old farts in Congress. Marijuana legalization is overwhelmingly supported by members of Congress except by the oldest members of Congress. But because they have the most experience they are in leadership positions and use that to squash it without ever seeing the light of day.

what is lol worthy about this ?

That the guy who's ideology has resulted in extreme poverty and hundreds of millions of deaths, has a negative opinion on the ideology that has lifted the world out of poverty and resulted in the most prosperous societies in human history

oh, and also, that you agree with him lol

What is wrong with this quote ?

Your postion on income equality is known by all, but what is your objection with this quote ?

This is one of the things I think is destroying this country faster than anything and something I fight against as a teacher all the time. Personally I find Marx (at least in his writings) to be an insufferable ass, but that doesn't mean every single thing he says is wrong. I consider that a FOX and Talk Radio thing, though I may be giving them too much credit. Is not a truth a truth? That's the type of **** I hear in politics all the time. I don't have to refute your entire argument, I just have to demonize and/or refute the speaker, or find one or two smaller errors, even spelling errors in something and therefore I can condemn the whole thing.

The other day I called Stossel a dick and I meant (and still do) every word of it, but that doesn't mean that if he tells the truth about something, or 1000 somethings I don't have to admit they're the truth.

Right?

Bc unless you're making some sort of political statement here, then the quote is entirely forgetful.

"If you're not happy, then you're not happy"

- sturg33

Profound!

The reality is, the social system Marx and 57 and Ohawk decry, resulted in unfathomable reduction in misery. If he had his way, this would certainly not have been the case.

He sounds like a jealous little bitch, to be honest.

And which social system do I decry? I've blasted communism and Marx, and Stalin, and Mao, multiple times and will continue to do so. The point I'm trying to make is the truth about any particular issue is still the truth no matter who makes it and BS is still BS no matter who says it. Also, nobody, no system, no person, etc., is always right nor always wrong. IF we want to get to the real truth and really do the right things we have to take each individual situation and each individual statement on its own. That is probably the #1 enemy of those who want to control our thoughts and our lives. That type of reasoning ought to be pretty high up in the Libertarian playbook, at least I would think so.

I'm quite comfortable laughing at Marxs criticism of any social system that is not his own.

Your defense of his "truth" is quite telling. Bc the social system he is criticizing is the most successful social system in human history which has resulted in nearly 100% misery reduction

I’m flabbergasted that he said sometimes communism is right.

It never was or Is

" we hold these truths self evident... " was pretty much the Marx quote.

Not sure what was lol or objectionable--- unless you time machine up to mid 20th century cold war dynamics/propaganda
