Things would be so much better if the left (and most of the right, for that matter) understood how economics work
You mean like supply side, demand side, do/should morals play a part, etc.?
What do morals have to do with economics?
You should be paid based on the value you bring to the business - and the cost to replace you should be considered. It's not a charity.
Morals (or lack of them) is always involved, no matter how hard you try to hide from it. I know including them can be dicey sometimes, but purposely excluding them leads to Hitler's Germany, Mussolini's Italy, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, and so on. You certainly can overdo the moral viewpoint but you sure can underdo it too, and either extreme IMO isn't a good thing.
My wife and Terry Gross begin sentences with "so"
So paying people based on economic value can lead to Hitler.
Got it
Wow, I gave you considerably more credit, both personal and cerebral, than what it took to make that kind of response. I stand corrected on my value judgement.
I don't view economics as a moral choice... It's objective
I see corporations giving great health insurance, 401K matching, paid leave, big charity donations... and then have to read how greedy they are... it gets old
Morals (or lack of them) is always involved, .
if you have to tell this to someone
it's like talking to a kid in Poli Sci 101 thinking he has it all figured out already
