SOrry I love the idea that armed citizens can protect themselves and their families from tyranny.
The government possesses drones that can kill someone anywhere in the world. They have nukes, tanks, stealth planes, rail guns on Navy Ships, etc. but Joe Bob from Pennsylvania with an AR-15 and a banana clip will be able to stop them!!!!
Anything beyond a simple handgun or rifle is just a penis extension.

i asked him if he held any ill will towards americans, america or the west

i was kind of shocked by that

I read the last paragraph, it doesn't change or remove the picture it was utilizing. Reality is that second Amendment has NOTHING to do with the standing up against tyranny etc. sure it's one of the things mentioned in one of Alexander's Federalist papers. But the reality was that the right to bear arms was something introduced by the founding fathers to differentiate America from the Monarchies in Europe. People have the power and part of that power was the right to arm yourself which in many European countries you didn't. It was a symbolic gesture more than anything else, but also a strategic gesture. Knowing the costs associated with the reconstruction after the Revolutionary War, the US Government almost certainly wasn't going to have enough money to have a large standing army to protect themselves against Britain, Spain, France, etc. if they decided they wanted a piece of us. By arming citizens into local militias, you have a semi-well trained army ready to be thrown into war if need be.

You are right for the most part, fighting the US government is not realistic. They would mow down any armed uprising and call them terrorists.
On the bright side we are just starting to get positive legal precedent for self defense against cops. One guy recently got off for defending his home during a no knock raid where he killed 3 of the people trying to do harm to him and his family. Another guy got off for self defense in jail where the cops was choking him.
