GAME TWO
Rome @ Greenville, ppd.

All Times Eastern

I expect a huge game from Weigel. Weak team. Interested to see how Mr Anderson does. He is going up against one of the better teams in the league.

As for "the big moves", I fully expect Johnson and Garcia to be traded within the next two weeks. If Coppy can find a dance partner, I don't think he keeps anybody looking for a "best offer" - if he hears something he likes, I think he pounces.

2 weeks? I guess it's possible

I'd like to get in on a bet involving those two being traded in the next two weeks. On the side of it not happening.

Joey Wentz activated off the DL. That's great news. I figured it would be longer when the injury happened.

Also, Matt Gonzalez promoted to High A and Ramon Osuna to Rome from extended ST.

I'm interested to see how Osuna does after a good start at Danville last season.

Looks like Wentz is now starting game one of the Rome DH.

.@TheRomeBraves rotation for Greenville series:

Monday GM 1 - Wentz

Monday GM 2 - Hellinger

Tuesday - Anderson

Good luck with that prediction.

Only way I could see a trade happening in the short term would be if it is in the very short term with a player going to a team who can send back a comp draft slot

Good luck with that prediction.

That timeline wouldn't surprise me. Sure, it's a little early, but this deadline is shaping up to be a really busy one, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Coppy try to get busy early. When you think about it, while the vets that he can move are much better than what we've been trying to move at the deadline the last couple seasons, they're still not guys that you expect to get a monster return for. That said, if you can find someone looking to deal prospects that are on the level you'd hope for those pieces he has, why not jump out there if you get someone looking to make moves before the prices start going through the roof? I don't think he's fooling himself about what kind of returns he'll get for these guys, so if he can add players who will knock guys like Davidson, Herbert, Seymour, Harrington, Morris, and the like out of our Top 30 for good, I'm guessing he'll pull the trigger quickly.
