Michael Harris II

LMAO, the internet accolades guy.

I've never seen someone so intent on telling everyone how much smarter he is than everyone else. Talk about overcompensating.

I don't think anyone doubts the chefs intelligence. He just doesn't have to be so much of asshole about it. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. I am certainly an ass to people at times too. Some of which didn't deserve it.

Interesting that Harris went back to the stance he used when he came up, rather than the one Seitzer got him to use which is basically low hands, like a left handed American Acuña

From everything I am reading about Harris's hot streak it sounds to me like he may have been struggling because he was being overcoached. Hitting coaches try to change the hitters to make them better but sometimes it just removes their strengths rather than fixes their weaknesses. I hear the new hitting coach has had our hitters taking more pitches early in at bats. Harris's hot streak has seen him hacking early and often. Hot streaks arent always just random. What happens is a scouting report gets around on a player then when they make adjustments it can lead to a hot streak until that scouting report gets updated. So if Harris was taking a lot of pitches early in at bats the scouting report probably says throw him some strikes early he probably wont swing and you can get ahead of him. Now he is hacking early and often and getting good pitches to hit. So we will see where he lands once pitchers adjust. But that my theory on MH.

Over coaching works on some people but not everybody. Some people just have to do their own thing and hopefully that's what Harris has done bc he came into the season as a guy that could be an MVP candidate.

Harris changed his stance. He is clearly seeing the ball better and his numbers are showing it. The last month (23ish games) he has only walked like 3 times but he is also only striking out at around 15% of the time.. so he is swinging just as much, but making contact now. I am not going to dig into his contact rates or chase rates.. because I just don't care this year.. but results are real and him getting back to being a 3-4 win player is huge for next year.

It's interesting how his resurgence has coincided with the Brave's offense doing better. They are averaging a full run more since the ASB than they did previously. It;s like there is now a guy that can drive all these players in the top 5 in the lineup in, or get on for the top 3 to drive in.

Mike's hitting .366 with an OPS north of 1.070 since the ASB. Those are legitimate video game numbers 😂 if the man could learn to take an extra walk or two every few games, he'd be a superstar lol

Career .243 hitting in the first half .315 hitter in the second half. So what we need is a first half platoon. Who is good in the first half and shit in the second and can play CF?

What we need is to tell him, "This year the ASB is in early June, and we're sending you to Bali to rest and recuperate for four days. Just stay away from TV's and the internet. Relax!"

The hand position has nothing to do with improving chase rate. There was likely some mental block that was unlocked at the same time, but positioning your hands higher doesn’t make you understand the zone better.

It's been addressed a bunch already. He was constantly out in front because he had to start his swing earlier to compensate for loading his hands.

If you watch his swing his hands drop before he swings anyways. I doubt the hands are the reason. I think it is his hips are a bit more open allowing him o see the pitches better along with him just mentally feeling different with the hands.

Maybe. But what I said is pretty much word for word what was reported.
