Might as well not even play the NLDS

Probably so. Atlanta remains a transplant city that cares more about football then anything else.

A football team that, though I am a fan of, constantly disappoints.

I think most big cities are transplant cities to a certain degree. Anyway, the people that are there don't even need to sit down. I don't even want the announcers to hear themselves.

I'm taking off work regardless. Thankfully I didn't have to for Thursday's game and only have to leave 2 horus early on Friday but I had already informed both bosses that I purchased tickets and I would not be at work if the games were being played during work hours. One boss said 'ok works for me. I won't even be in the office on Thursday and Friday bc I'm going to the games.' the other boss was less than thrilled. He said 'ok but next time consult me before you buy tickets.' Ha, riiiiight. I already had it in my head if he said no I'd just call in sick. I'm not missing these games. No way.

Yup the usual bs that Atlanta residents come up with every year. If it was the 4 pm game it would be "we couldn't get off work." Now that it's at 830 it's " a school night and the game is starting too late." Never effing fails.

Must be a Nats fan.

The school night excuse is as lame as they come. I went to Game 4 of the 1996 WS, Game 2 of the 1997 NLCS, Game 2 of the 1998 NLDS, Game 2 of the 1999 NLCS (Long Live, Eddie Perez) and Game 2 of the 1999 WS. All late starts except the 1997 one, all school nights.

Glad you're going to be there! Hope fans get it together and fill up the stadium. I don't want to see a bunch of empty seats or a bunch of dodgers fans like the Cubs series.

Funny story. I don't recal which game it was since I've been to so mnay but one year we had a playoff game on a school night and I had a test in Spanish the next day. My parents wanted me to go but knew I had to study. So my mom told my dad to take me but only if we took my Spanish book and studied in between innings. He speaks Spanish so he was the one told to take me. I think we made it through half a chapter before first pitch. My dad said, 'don't tell your mother we didn't study. We'll just go over it in the car on the way home.'

Thanks! I'll be there tonight with my gf and there tomorrow night with my gf and parents. Can't wait!!!

I really hope we don't have any dodger fans in the stadium. They're not as serious as Cubs fans are. Dodger fans don't show up until the 4th inning and then leave in the 6th so we should be alright. I'm more worried about empty seats.

School night and a late start. Cost of tickets might have something to do with it. And the same old tired lament of location.

Such a bad excuse. Games are packed everywhere else on school nights with prime time starts. Plus tickets in atlanta are much cheaper than most places.

Atlanta is not a baseball town, end of story. Football will always come first.

Might be a lame excuse if you were using it but it is true in Atlanta for thousands. Most of the attendees live a very considrable driving distance. Want proof?
Next spring watch the attendence figures and TV up until around the 15th of May and look for a spike.
BTW, do you have school age children?

Amazing that other teams fill up their stadiums on school nights...I am sure the Georgia Dome will be empty Monday night since it's a school night too...oh wait..

"Now now, playoffs or not, it's a school night fans and we all know Brave fans are commited to education."

If Ethier ever comes up in a key situation, it is a MUST that we save one of our lefty relievers for him. He's notoriously horrible against lefties, this year hitting only .220 with a .613 OPS, striking out nearly 1/4 of the time.

Just another reason you go Maholm over Hale (if Downs is going to be left off). Maholm was excellent at home and excellent home and away against lefties and first batters faced.
