Save Williams, Whitman, and Sandburg, most of the (US) Americans I've really made an effort to read were—to some degree at least—of the expatriate ilk; and I suppose Faulkner's scratched the Southern Gothic itch heretofore. Maybe someday.

I went to college in Milledgeville. Saw Big Ben at another bar that night. The girl had a pretty damn nice car a few weeks later.

Mix of Atlanta kids (students) and rednecks (locals). Pretty fun place overall.

Yeah I think so too. Not a real Faulkner fan myself. O'Connor has a wonderful way of smacking you in the face.
