I’m not putting too much stock into the first-season numbers, good or bad, for the recent draftees—especially since they’re all probably a level too high, with the FCL schedule idiocy. I’m encouraged that he’s holding his own and hitting with some power; hoping the K-rate normalizes next year (when he’ll probably repeat at Rome).

But so far, Miller and Williams (and Braunschweig) look to be the guys that will move quicker, based on control of the strike-zone. Loving Gil’s second half, as well—I’m guessing he’s done enough to start 2026 in Rome (at a very young age—keep Zito away!).

In terms of upper-minors MIF, Waddell has made himself interesting in 2025, with his steady, very-solid performance all year at AAA. Not sure his place in the majors, if Kim opts-in (or is extented). I believe he needs to be added to the 40-man this offseason—but they can always punt Ornelas off and keep him in AAA for depth. Not sure he has enough shine to net anything in trade—but maybe Allen’s elite glove could find a taker for a low-minors flier, and Waddell could join the Braves’ bench?

Same caveat I posted above applies. He should be in the FCL, but the reconfiguration of leagues and attendant schedules means he’s in A-ball (because the other options is just working out at the Braves’ complex). So a huge grain of salt needs to accompany his 2025 numbers. He’s just getting his feet wet in pro ball as a recent high-school graduate, and likely even starts 2026 in the FCL. So pretty much any positive results are a great sign, and I wouldn’t sweat at all his ~40% k-rate or Nick Allen-level OPS.
 
Rome and Augusta seasons end on Sunday, so this was likely Caminiti’s last start of the year: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K. 93 pitches, his career high. Only three outs came through the air.
