He might be able to get a similar deal. 1 year around 10-15 mil with a 2nd year option. But yeah, he isn't getting a major pay day. It probably isn't worth the risk to decline the option.

I'm trying to discern who the Braves might be sending to the Arizona Fall League. Characteristically, the haven't sent a lot of their top prospects out there over the years (Baldwin last year an obvious exception) and have used the league to get more ABs/IPs for guys who have missed part of the season due to injury. Hackenburg fits in the latter category, but I'm wondering about other guys.

Gil has plenty of range not surprising giving his twitch and speed. He definitely turned himself into a legit ss prospect. He's been a refreshing surprise with the bat though once he came back from injury. Gonna be interesting ss battles in the next few years.

We've been complaining about no SS depth and now it looks to be a huge strength going forward.

Agree on Alvarez. I imagine they are trying to get a comprehensive look at Jarvis. Clohisy has had a pretty good year. Hackenburg has missed time this season and they are probably trying to get him innings. Same with Sinnard especially because he didn't pitch at all in 2024 in his last year at Indiana. He looks like he might be a prospect. Kroeger, Wall, and McDonough are either way below slot signings or UDFAs. All have had some measure of success but Kroeger and Wall have been old for classification most of their minor league careers.

That might be the plan. He and Brujan might make a nice bench combination along with a C and an OF. I think with the 4-man bench, everyone on it has to be able to hit at least some. If Allen isn't a starting SS, he's just a sore thumb on the bench. I think Alvarez could stand at SS for a couple of innings, but he's not a candidate for extended time at the position. Stick Allen in Gwinnett and if Kim goes down, bring him up.

The quality of depth has to be pretty high on the to do list. Hopefully we let Ozuna go so we can get more versatile. If we did sign say Bellinger then he can play all 3 OF spots and 1b so that would lessen the need for a bat first OF bench player. I'd go get Bader also to really have great depth in the OF.

Among 50+ PA hitters, Southisene ranked dead last with a .157 xwOBA. He was one of the most aggressive debut hitters with a 53.5% swing rate and a 37.5% chase rate. When he did hit the ball, it was often on the ground. The silver lining here is that Southisene’s contact quality was loud. His 105.4 mph 90th percentile exit velocity was second among all teenagers, narrowly behind Ethan Holliday (105.5).

Not gonna pile on...there'll be enough of that, but I hate his set up, plane to the ball, approach, pitch recognition...that said, I gather no more from his debut than some of the other hitters in the system...
Brutal is fair in this case, but where he was placed aggressively didn't help.

I always hate the descriptions that read...good enough actions, enough arm....etc. But I'd say they aren't wrong for him. Only saw him twice but liked him more defensively than I thought the second time. He's the kind of player that won't hurt you there, but he didn't strike me as a defensive wiz. He'll get to balls in the hole or up the middle because he's pretty quick. Got some twitch....I think he'll be fine there, but I wouldn't rule out another position if there are better ss prospects in the system. Gil, Tavarez, Lodise, Perdomo all have better actions to me. Tate is solid though.
