Surprised that Cam Caminiti will remain a 45+(guessing). What is keeping him from a 50 FV grade and Top 100.

Lot of Caminiti questions. Another who was close. Want to see a more consistent change and want to see him hold his stuff in longer outings.

It's a lot easier to buy a guy's stuff if he's able to do it over 5-6 innings than 3-4. Not a Caminiti comment specifically, that applies everywhere.

Not that I care about anyone else's list, but I noted as have a few that his change up is developing. Still no reason for him not to be on the list. Confident that'll change so it shouldn't bother anyone.

I think Cam may still be a 50 grade prospect when they release our top prospects list. They just didn't have him as a top 100 prospect. It would be really strange not bump him up from his 45+ FV rating that they already had him at before last season. Especially considering he had a pretty terrific year for someone that pitched most of last year as an 18 year old. I get the feeling that if he were an international signee with the same skillset and production, FG would have ranked him a lot higher.

FG Picks to click :

Sinnard is 6-foot-8 and he has barely played baseball (he only started during his senior year of high school and had just one healthy year at Indiana), but he’s thrown strikes when healthy even though he’s adding pitches. He could be a four-pitch mid-rotation guy if he continues on his current trajectory

Murphy, another Braves arm on our Top 100 long list, has overwhelmed low-minors hitters since he was drafted in 2022. Tommy John surgery cost him most of the last two years, though he looked sharp late last summer. He could have plus command of a mix of average and above-average stuff.

Caminiti, the cousin of late big-leaguer Ken Caminiti, was still 17 when Atlanta selected him in the first round of the 2024 draft. The Braves have taken it slowly with the young lefty, who worked about four innings per outing last year. He has a solid fastball/slider foundation, and if he’s able to refine his change and build stamina in 2026, he’ll be in good shape for jumping onto our list.

Gil and Tornes get a nod that scouts believed they'd pop this year as well.

On Cam-

It was mentioned they only held him to 4 inning outings most of last year, so the commentary on not seeing him hold his stuff longer into games that "held his FV back some" was probably on purpose as an 18 year old.

I don’t completely understand it yet and need to read about it more but Fangraphs has another top 100 prospect list based on WAR projection, aging curves etc… seems complicated. But it has Gil and Fuentes as the only two Braves. It’s interesting. Some of the list is very similar to their scouting list but some are very very different like our guys.
