We already have 3 monster breakout seasons from Hartman, Gil, and Southisene. Guanipa is having a mini-breakout of his own. And Tornes hasn’t debuted yet. System is pointing way up. We needed it too.

Tate is playing almost exclusively at 2nd. He looks pretty fluid there too. Alex for me is the better pure SS, Gil is good there and much improved. Options are beginning to show themselves.

2027 last year of team control for Ozzie. Not sure I give him a big contract. 15 mill a year might be as high as I would go and that's like pocket change for the Mets.

Yeah Tate is a few years away so he'd fit the Ozzie replacement. I'm still holding out for Lodise getting better with the bat.

I don't think Tate's home is 2b. His arm is too good to waste at 2b. He's got a 50 grade arm, which might actually be too low of a grade. He was clocked at 99 mph from SS during pre-draft workouts. Ideally, Gil continues to hit well and gets promoted to AA next month, and then we can promote either Tate or Lodise to AA so that Tate can get everyday reps at SS.

Lodise is legitimately a great defensive SS, which is why I continually say his floor is a utility player. The defense is going to carry him to the majors no matter what, barring injuries.
