Minor league thread

I think Grissom has been very underrated. What he is doing should be opening more eyes. I think he should easily be a top 50 prospect at this point.

A+ ball this year:

.312/.404/.487
9.3% BB rate
11.6% K rate
.332 BABIP
11 homers, 55 RBI, 20 SB
.404 wOBA, 145 wRC+

Compare that to what Harris did in his A+ year:
.294/.362/.436
8.3% BB rate
18.1% K rate
.349 BABIP
7 homers, 64 RBI, 27 SB
.349 wOBA, 114 wRC+

In his 7 game SSS to AA Grissom's tearing the cover off the ball and has continued his 40+ game on base streak.

Granted Harris was a year younger for the stats above. Also, the defensive position murkiness also probably keeps Grissom a rung lower but I still think he should be a top 50 prospect.

I agree that Grissom is a prospect.

But a year in A+ Ball can be everything.

Just saying… it is impressive that he hasn’t let up at all in AA… and pretty young for the level

agree. I think most people thought that Grissom was a better hitter than Harris. When you are talking peak performance that is another thing, but still likely would get more Grissom.

grissom did spend time in A+ but there was the pandemic and Shewmake ahead of him.

What are people looking for from him to see him as a big time prospect? I assume it's defensive position and iso.

Vaughn Grissoms stats this year are pretty dang good. He should be getting a lot more recognition and not bc he’s our best prospect.
AB AVG HR RBI SB OPS

Kiley tweet (link below to see video): Saw a solid pitching matchup 2 nights ago in Columbia, SC of two young 45 FV pitchers: Braves RHP A.J. Smith-Shawver and Royals RHP Ben Kudrna.

Smith-Shawver has hit 99 this spring, was 93-97 mph for me, 87-89 with a two-plane SL that flashed +. CTRL over CMD but has components.

The stats may not be telling the Smith-Shawver story. All reports are that his development has been promising

Looks like Shuster is going to AAA:

Is he simply a college arm that they think is, at this point, unchallenged at AA? Or is he a potential trade chip, and the team hopes he raises his value a little more with a good first start AAA?

Plagiarist.

Given Anderson's struggles, I'm not so sure he's not getting bumped because they think they might even need him for a start or three during the second half.

Would guess the Shuster promotion is, in part, related to this development:
