Right, but I still wouldn’t expect his velo to be right back to where it was previously. It might take a bit for him to be totally comfortable after such a long layoff. That’s all I was trying to say.
Again, when you have a 6 man rotation that means 1 less BP arm to go to. So when Elder goes 5, then Mort goes 5.1 and Strider only goes 5... then your pen will be crushed.
Is the assumption starting pitchers pitch less innings when they go every 6th day versus 5?
I see the downside of having 1 less arm you can roster, but I don’t agree that day to day your bullpen will be used more.
