I feel the need to mention this again. MLB is secretly giving the Nats an undisclosed amount of money every year because their TV deal is bad, but the thing is the Nats were getting 29 million a year and the Braves were getting only 10-20 million. I wish someone would ask the commish why he is subsidizing a team with a 136 million dollar payroll. This is just flat out cheating. The Braves TV deal was negotiated and signed while for sale and sold under market value to a company owned by Time Warner. The Liberty CO Dirk McGirk admits he knew what he was getting into when buying the team but so did the Nats owners. Why is it then that they get subsidized? Why is it fair for teams to get 100+ million a year selling TV rights when others get 20% as much but it was unfair for the braves to get 40 million from TBS? Why didn't the Braves get any competitive balance picks the last few years, even the Cardinals got one.
If their reasons were legit why has MLB tried to hide the money paid to the Nats. It took someone leaking it to get out. Neither MLB or the Nats have denied it. We should at least know how much money it is. If it's 2-3 million I will only be upset based on principal but if it's something like 15-20 million I would **** bricks.
