Why the hell would anyone take Harang unless they were in a pennant race and desperate for pitching?

There's no question that someone would be getting quite a haul if they acquired Harang.

This trade would not likely happen for several reasons, for starters we'd have to take on salary which supposedly we can't do and it would limit us to make moves the next 2 offseasons potentially, but it would free up big money in 2017.

So let me ask you a hypothetical question. If you paid cash for a BMW in July, would you regard that as freeing up big money for August?

It would be risky to try to squeeze in someone new between Laird and Harang. The club would need to take out insurance before doing that.
