I'd take Mayberry just so I wouldn't have to watch Minor get bombed by him again. He wouldn't be any worse than what we have.

I got a chuckle out of that one. Actually, I like Mayberry and he'd be a nice bench piece, but he can't play CF so I don't know if that would hamstring us late in games.

Denorfia is a nice player and would be an upgrade for us from Schafer.

Nationals are looking for a second basemen to replace Rendon who moved back to third base. Martin Prado is a name I keep seeing as a potential trade candidate from Arizona.

With his contract, wouldnt make much sense.

I still like the prospects of Ruggiano more than anyone right now.

My ideal move would be a trade for both him and Bonifacio from Chicago. Denorfia has been on the decline offensively (only a .644 OPS or so vs lefties this year). So I am afraid he'd just come here and not do much (kinda like Reed Johnson, though Johnson had injury issues also).

Bonifacio and Ruggiano could give us players to platoon or replace both BJ Upton and CJ at third (Bonifacio can play third). Plus both can play centerfield for BJ Upton at times too. They'd also improve our bench a lot, esp. by adding both of them.

That said, I doubt we have the money for both so Bonifacio is likely our best shot since only a rental.

Mets aren't trading anyone.

Ruben Amaro should be fired for the absolute grease fire he's made of the Phillies. Get them some Geritol.

Maybe the Braves are paying his salary. He's helping the Braves by how he's running the Phillies. I certinely do not want to see him fired , they might replace him with someone competent. Philly hasn't won anything since Pat Gillick stepped down

Bonafacio is a consistent sub .700 OPS player who doesn't steal as many bases as he used to. Your obsession with him is head scratching. Every year someone wants him and every year I fail to see why. If we got him, it better be for about a 20th tier prospect becsuse he's simply not a good player who strikes out a ton more than he walks... We have enough of those.

Probably would be a high price for either one, but I would at least find out what kind of a package Boston would take.
