MLB Trade Deadline Discussion

It seems like the Braves could have done something like that with three teams. Find a team that needs pitching, but doesn't have enough talent to get Price on its own, and send them Santana for a couple of prospects. Braves send Bethancourt and a pitching prospect (Hursh maybe?), along with the prospects from the team that got Santana, to the Rays for Price. That would have both bolstered what we could offer and cleared enough payroll to obtain Price.

That's an interesting angle that I hadn't considered, moving Santana.

Wren earlier this week was working on a similiar deal you mentioned with Santana going to the Yankees.

I'm told the #Athletics are mulling over what to do with the scheduled Cespedes T-shirt giveaway Saturday.

Pick any "projectable" starter that isn't producing and will never have a career in majors.

Sims is probably our best comparable. Projectable starter who is struggling stats wise. I certainly am not prepared to give up on Sims. And still believe he can be a major leaguer.
