MORE ROY

Have no choice but to move on. Even President Trump Tonight has congratulated Jones. Roy, you’re making yourself look bad. Step away while you have some dignity left.

this isn't making him look bad, he made sure that a LONG time ago and obviously his history and that rally last night proves he doesn't have dignity

i also don't believe there is a chance the orange one tweeted that, just no way. lol

I was trying to be nice. Haha. But yeah, Moore is looking bad in defeat right now.

Oh, and President Trump’s Tweet

I'm from Pensacola, born and raised. I don't dismiss folks from the south. But a lot more than a victory for Doug Jones tonight is going to be necessary before I accept that "southern conservatives take morality more serious than" I thought they did. I've personally lived around too much hypocrisy in that regard; much of my family, on one branch, is still actively living that hypocrisy.

Having said that, I absolutely think the left is right to pursue a real (and respectful) strategy in the south, instead of writing it off. And I definitely think Bedell is right that our present moment is an opportunity for both centrist liberals and the left to court Christian voters with a morality that isn't hypocritical, but instead focuses on lifting up and protecting the least of us in a practicable way.

Meanwhile, yes: I do think a "deep blue state" would have elected a milquetoast, centrist Republican over a twice-disbarred, whackadoo (D) with a cloud of sexual misconduct violations hanging over the race. Socially milquetoast, business-friendly (R) candidates get elected into so-called "deep blue" states all the time.

I appreciate this post, but disagree with your last paragraph. I just don't think that given the same exact situation we would have seen the same result if the roles were reversed. I hope we would though, because it would give us a point of agreement that we could work from to solve our differences.

Write ins accounted for 2% of the vote. I have to imagine the majority of that were Republicans who could not stomach voting for Moore.

I shouldn’t be surprised that Moore isn’t conceding. One of his advisors is Dean Young, who ran for my congressional district against Bradley Byrne twice and lost twice. The first time, it took him a week I think it was to admit defeat.

It's amusing to witness Republicans who were half-in/half-out on Moore now suddenly go full bore anti-Moore.

Doesn't work that way, fellas.

I would have been a write in voter. I'm glad Moore lost. I hate that Jones won. I'm sick at the thought of having to rely more fully on the Susan Collins/John McCain types. I'm relieved that Roy Moore is still Judge Moore and not Senator Moore.

I'm mad at the whole mess of a situation, and at Moore for causing it. So I am not gping to feel too bad about a little light hearted tantrum.

Oh, and I'm mad about the last post on page 11 of this thread getting zero recognition. That was some of my best work here.

Bannon says the military votes ain't tallied.

goldfly says cirrhosis of the liver needs to speed up on that POS bannon

I genuinely cant recall anyone making such a public spectacle of themselves. 1850s? Riding a dang horse? If the polling station had a back porch he probably would have peed off it while alternating between rebel yells and screaming Roll damn Tide!

As an Alabama fan, please don’t use a Roll Tide at the end of that image.....

My Republican friends, you saw what is going to happen in 2018 if there is not a turn from Gingrich republicanism (our way or else) and a distancing from the maniac in the WH.
