My first trip to Suntrust with the fam....

Lol, dude, 90% of this board are southern born and raised. You don’t have to try and validate yourself. It’s all in good fun.

Perhaps with many of you, but at least one is clearly serious. The comments that are clearly meant tongue in cheek aren't offensive, but some people actually believe all that stereotypical tripe. Regarding the OP, I don't know if he was trolling or not, but I didn't get that impression. I hate it for him if he had a bad experience. I like the new ball park experience much better than the Turner Field experience, though I did like the ball park itself.

And by the way, I wasn't trying to validate myself, but rather letting some posters know that southerners who aren't afraid to walk aren't mythical, like unicorns.

A fun fact I'll share with all my ChopCountry brethren here.

Park at the Hyatt down the street from the stadium. They used to monitor parking there when the stadium first opened to try and tow people who weren't staying there and going to the game. (They did for a few games I went to last year). They gave you parking decals last year if you stayed there.

They don't monitor the lot anymore or use the decals. I've used the lot 3 times this year, while a friend of mine was staying there and I drove separately but wasn't staying there. Parking lot has had a few spots open. And it's only less than a 10 minute walk to the Battery. We know this because the first two times we tried this, we asked for an extra decal when he first checked in saying we drove separate rentals. Management told us both separate times they don't monitor the lot anymore. Just did it last year cause of all the influx of new people coming to the area.

Oh, and I still wish the MARTA ran to Suntrust. MARTA rail expansion is going to be voted on in tsplost (if it hasn't already forgot and haven't been keeping up), but nothing to Cobb or Suntrust.

Unfortunately MARTA doesn't run direct to the new Dome like it did the old GA Dome and does for Phillips Arena. But at least they're building a pedestrian overpass from the nearest rail station across the street directly to the entrance outside of the new Stadium.

.9 mile walk is considered bad to people now. lol

i don't like somethings about the new park but overall it's fine.

Every1 work at Wal Mart, what do you xpect frum us?

Walmart is the largest employer in almost every single Southern state. Due to being poor, Southerners can't afford to shop at Walmart. As a result, dollar stores are the only retailers that are growing in number.

These are facts. Sorry if they are offensive.

Walmart is the biggest employer in the country (world?).

And they're HQ is in Arkansas.

It's not shocking they are a big employer in the south
