That's not really going out on a limb, though, since the Bulls very well might win the East without Carmelo.
They are so much better off with that team cancer.

I remember when Denver was going to be so much better without Melo.
And they have been.
Jimmy Butler > Kevin Love
And they have been.
Based on what?
Won more than the Knicks.
2010-2011 season:
Denver 50-32
New York 42-40
Both lost in round 1
2011-2012 season:
Denver 38-28
New York 36-30
Both lost in round 1
2012-2013 season:
Denver 57-25 and lost again in round 1
New York 54-28 and advanced to ECSF
2013-2014 season:
Denver 36-46
New York 37-45
Neither made playoffs
So in this span Denver has 12 more regular season wins and they each have the same amount of post season play as well. New York won a series and Denver hasn't. However anyone who thinks Denver couldn't have won a series in the east should probably quit watching basketball entirely.
There is no way to tell if Denver is better of or not. What you can do is make educated guesses about the players that would be on Denver if the greedy guy was still there. No Chandler or Gallo. Doubtful Lawson is there either since he wouldn't have his current contract. So yes they would probably be worse off.
