By the time Okafor is good, 2-3 years if they picked him, Melo will be out of his prime.
And who are they signing, Marc Gasol?
Rondo will probably re-up with Dal, and LMA will stay in Portland.

Agreed. But to be good enough to carry a team will take a few years. Look how great Anthony Davis is and he can't carry his team yet.
As I've said for a few years. Melo has an awful body. He will not age well and he is being paid max dollars.

Okafor will be good but there is a big transition from college to the NBA.
Even if they get him, the Knicks need a whole new roster just to even be a playoff team.

Davis is carrying the Picans. They have garbage outside of him. Just chuckers like gordon, holliday, etc and loor defenders like Anderson.

Melo can barely play this year. Do you think he is going to be great next year? Its all downhill for Melo at this point. The days of Melo resembling a top 10 player is over. Top 20 will be a stretch moving forward.

Okafor is a beast but he's not gonna come in and dominate NBA-style bigs from the get-go.
Thats even if the Knicks get the top pick, but supposedly they may shut Melo down.
I think Melo can still be good, still a top scorer, but unless they're landing KD or LeBron, they're in NBA-purgatory.

Where you play doesn't mean as much anymore. Its a global sports and you get fanfare regardless of where you play.
Why didnt Melo? Oh yeah, he did. And so will others. Kids grow up dying to play for Knicks, Lakers, Celtics.
Melo got traded for and then signed for the most money even after saying the Bulls were the best fit.
Which kids are dying to play for the Knicks? The ones that grow up in the middle of the country? Why are the Knicks a desireable place to play?
I'm a New Yorker and I LOVE IT HERE. However, the Knicks are the most overrated organization in professional sports.
